Sahel Philip Annabi is a Banking, Finance and Economic Growth Expert with around 25 years of experience in more than 15 countries in the Middle East, Asia, GCC and Africa. Sahel worked as a senior consultant & project manager to many public and private reforms & business development projects in many countries like Jordan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Sudan, Lebanon, Qatar, Bahrain, UAE, Kuwait and Yemen. Worked with World Bank, USAID, EU, African Development Bank, Johns Hopkins University and other leading development and financial institution.
During his consultancy& entrepreneurship experience, he managed to deliver significant projects related to strategy development, policy making of financial sectors on a national and institutional level for projects related to access to finance, financial inclusion, Microfinance, development of MSMEs financial solutions and products, Value Chain & Agri finance products and strategy, introducing Islamic Finance Windows Operating Model Concept which was implemented in Qatar, UAE and Afghanistan. Moreover, Sahel restructured many well-known financial institutions in different countries including design and development of export fund, restructuring of several MSMEs funds, loan guarantees schemes and designed and developed the first Life Planning web-tool to equip young people with life skills including financial & career. In addition, Moreover, he designed & conducted many training programs to businesses (MSMEs) and financial institutions in the Middle East and the GCC. Before that, he served as an employee with International Financial Institutions such as HSBC, Arab Bank, ABC Banking Corporation, Egyptian Arab Land Bank. He was interviewed many times on TVs & Radio channels as an Economist and Financial Planning Expert in addition to contributing with many articles in magazines and newspapers in Jordan.
Sahel Currently is preparing for his doctorate degree in Financial Technology and Development Finance. He holds an MSc. in International Securities, Investment & Banking from Henley Business School, previously known as ICMA Centre (Ranked top 25 of finance programs according to Financial Times) / The University of Reading – UK, as well as the Financial Advisor International Qualification from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) - UK.
